THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING!

Our Route 66 Beach Festival volunteers are the BEST and we couldn’t do it without you! If you haven’t volunteered with the Festival yet, join us! Here are some FAQs. We’ll have more info as we get closer to the 2027 event. If you have questions, email us at info@openwatersports.org.

The Route 66 Beach Festival is being held at Edmond’s Arcadia Lake just off Route 66. Use this address for driving directions: 7100 E 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73034.

You will not need to pay the $10 Arcadia Lake fee if you are a volunteer. We will have your name at the gate.

We recommend you allow extra time to get parked and checked-in before your shift begins. Volunteer check-in is located in the UCO Boathouse as you enter the venue.

Once you enter the lake grounds you’ll be directed to the volunteer parking area.

Volunteer check-in is located at the University of Central Oklahoma Boathouse as you enter the venue.

Please email info@openwatersports.org if you’re going to be late or need to re-schedule your shift so we can find someone to fill in.

We recommend locking any valuables in your car trunk or keeping them with you if your volunteer duties make it feasible (i.e., if you’re working at a tent). Unfortunately, we do not have a secure location for storing valuables.

We encourage volunteers to wear cool, breathable clothing. It’s a beach event, so you’ll be around sand, water and sunny skies. Since temps are forecast to be hot, we recommend wearing a hat or visor, bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated, and wearing sunscreen. We’ll have plenty of water, ice and shade to help everyone stay as comfortable as possible.
