BEACH SPRINTS Racing

RUN. ROW. WIN.

Beach Sprints will make its Olympic debut at the LA28 Games. If you were at the 2026 Route 66 Beach Festival, you’ve already seen what makes it exciting! Missed the first one? Join us in 2027!

Beach Sprints is a new take on rowing, a race experience like no other. A head-to-head race through sand and waves. Athletes sprinting to the boats, battling through waves, then charging back across the sand to the finish.  Hit the buzzer first and you’ve grabbed gold. Four minutes start to finish.

  • RUN Athletes start with a short sprint across the sand to a boat held by handlers.
  • ROW 250 meters out and back. Athletes slalom around three buoys. At the final buoy, a 180-degree turn and a straight row to the beach. Head-to-head competition in two lanes.
  • RUN The win goes to the athlete first to charge back across the sand and dive for the finish line buzzer.
